William Smith is an associate in the Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He maintains a diverse corporate and securities law practice for both private and publicly-held companies primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, share and asset purchase transactions, debt and equity financings, and corporate governance.
William also has experience acting for borrowers and lenders in financial services transactions and in the real estate sector.
William is a graduate of the Dual JD program at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Prior to law school, he attended Seton Hall University while competing as a member of the men's NCAA Division 1 Swimming and Diving team.
William summered at a major Canadian grocery chain, prior to articling at a large national firm in Vancouver and practicing as an associate at a large national firm in Calgary.
