Youcef Belrachid is a member of the Corporate/Commercial group and practises corporate and securities law since 2019. Youcef is primarily interested in national and cross-border purchases, sales, mergers, restructurings, and both the public and private markets negotiations.
Youcef holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from University of Montreal’s Faculty of Law, where he graduated on the Dean’s Honors List for academic excellence. He also received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School the following year. Prior to joining Fasken, Youcef worked as a research assistant at the University of Montreal. There, he did significant work related to contract law for renowned scholar, Didier Lluelles, and contributed to the Centre de recherche en droit public (CRDP) under the supervision of Professor Vincent Gautrais. Youcef was also involved in the Osgoode Hall Law Journal as an Associate Editor, where he assessed, edited and generally contributed to the publishing process of scholarly articles.
In addition to his legal background, Youcef has spent 7 years in the Model United Nations circuit, taking part as a conference organiser, delegate and committee director of conferences all around the world including Brussels, Seoul and Bogotà. Youcef also swam for almost 17 years, allowing him to participate at the highest level of Canadian championship. He additionally has competitive experiences in both rugby and sailing. Finally, Youcef served as a Surf Rescue Technician on the Ocean City Beach Patrol in Maryland (USA) for two consecutive years prior to joining Fasken.
