Armand Benitah is a Partner and Chair of the firm’s Toronto Intellectual Property (IP) Group. He is a lawyer and also a registered patent and trademark agent.
Through his broad IP practice, Armand works with clients on all facets of IP, from patents, trademarks, and copyrights, to industrial design and trade secrets. Providing thoughtful, strategic and tailored advice, Armand assists clients through the creation, protection, commercialization, licensing and enforcement of IP.
He regularly advises on the transfer and acquisition of IP assets, and drafts and negotiates commercial agreements ranging from license, non-disclosure, research and development agreements, to security interest, technology transfer and collaboration/co-development agreements.
In addition to his commercial transactional work, Armand assists clients with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Working primarily in the mechanical and electromechanical arts, he advises on all issues related to patentability, validity, infringement and enforcement of patent rights.
Armand manages extensive domestic and international patent, trademark and industrial design portfolios, with particular experience acting for manufacturing and technology companies backed by venture capital funds.
Armand is a Member of the Canadian Bar Association and an Affiliate Member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
