Overview

Caroline Youdan has a broad civil litigation and arbitration practice. With a focus on class actions, product liability, and international arbitrations, Caroline advocates for clients in a variety of industries including automotive, life sciences, mining, retail and manufacturing, construction, and banking and finance.

Before joining the firm, Caroline worked as an associate editor for Toronto Life magazine. She also practiced as an Associate in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP. While there, she represented clients in a range of litigation matters, including complex securities litigation, white collar defence and regulatory enforcement matters, and internal investigations.  In 2008, Caroline clerked for Justice Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada.

  • Confidential client in ICC arbitration valued at C$220 million,
  • Representing Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in numerous national class action proceedings, including the diesel fuel emission systems in two models of FCA vehicles, Ongoing since January 2017
  • Representing Novartis Pharmaceuticals in a putative national class action relating to the drug Zofran, Ongoing since November 2015
