Workplace violence and harassment are critical issues in educational settings. This webinar is designed for school administrators, teachers, HR professionals, and safety officers to better understand how to balance serving students, including those with special needs, while ensuring the protection of school staff.
In this webinar, we will review case law on the obligation to protect staff from workplace violence or threats, whether originating from students, parents, spouses, partners, or other staff members. The session will cover the duty to report incidents of workplace violence, disclose risks to staff and joint health and safety committees, and appropriate HR responses, including the duty to investigate and report.
Our panel will provide an overview of various provincial occupational health and safety regimes, focusing on the health and safety of workers in relation to incidents of violence and harassment.
Attendees will gain practical strategies and improved knowledge to help create a safer work environment in educational settings.
