Overview

Workshop 5

Learn how the courts are interpreting these new obligations and the practical implications for your practices.

Topics will include:

  • Practical insights into the complaints process: increased volume, complaints involving sexual violence, anonymous complaints, and complaints related to the workplace environment.
  • Practical insights into investigations: the decision to investigate following a report of misconduct, choosing between internal and external investigations, best practices to prioritize, and the challenges of applying internal policies.
  • Review of recent case law: investigations the courts found to be deficient and the broadened scope of violence and harassment.
  • Recommendations regarding prevention: internal policies, designated persons and reporting systems, the independence of human resources, and training for employees, managers and designated persons.

Leave with practical guidance to assess your practices and identify areas for improvement.
