Intact Financial acquires JEVCO Insurance for US$530 million

Intact Financial Corporation (TSX: IFC) announced that it has completed its acquisition of JEVCO Insurance Company for $530 million from The Westaim Corporation (TSX: WED). IFC is the largest provider of property and casualty insurance in the country with $6.5 billion in premiums. This acquisition will allow IFC to expand their offering to brokers and consumers as well as broaden their offering of specialty lines products to businesses.
