On February 22, 2021, Champlain Financial Corporation, a Canadian private holding company based in Montreal, Quebec, together with Fondaction and a group of private investors, announced they have acquired Maison Isabelle Inc., a Quebec company that has developed its expertise in the industrial manufacturing of pastry products.
Following this acquisition, Champlain announces the formation of Humanity Bakeries Inc., a Quebec-based investment platform focused on the Quebec specialized bakery and pastry industry.
A Fasken team composed of Jean-Sébastien Dugas, Cristel Chabot-Lapointe, Véronique Harvey-Bertrand, Élaine Laberge-Poirier, Félix Gutierrez and Alexandra Freedman acted for Champlain Financial Corporation in connection with this transaction.
