On March 1, 2023, Co-operators Financial Services Limited (“Co-operators”), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Co-operators Group Limited, completed the acquisition of Smart Employee Benefits Inc. (“SEB”) by way of a plan of arrangement under the Business Corporations Act (Ontario).
Pursuant to the transaction, Co-operators, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, acquired all of the issued and outstanding common shares of SEB, other than those shares already owned by Co-operators, in a deal worth approximately C$90 million.
