Metrolinx, through its PRESTO division, recently completed its extensive procurement program to modernize the PRESTO payment system. This system is used by transit agencies in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area and Ottawa (including the Toronto Transit Commission). Metrolinx is enhancing many of the current services and systems through a new multi-vendor environment, making this project one of the largest and most complex IT procurements done in Ontario.
Fasken was retained to advise on five multi-stage competitive procurement processes, and to draft and negotiate the resulting complex contracts with successful vendors, Accenture, Deloitte and HGS Canada Inc.
Fasken acted for Metrolinx with a team consisting of Daniel Fabiano, John Beardwood, Marcia Mills, Andrew Alleyne, Gabriel Stern, Shan Arora, Paul Burbank, Heather Whiteside, Summer Lewis and Christopher Little.
