In early 2025, we acted as lead counsel for a provincial health authority in connection with its licensing of clinical content from a third‑party provider under a multi‑year content license agreement. The licensed clinical data will be used as training and input data for a proprietary large language model application being developed internally by the client.
Working closely with the client’s business team, we advised on all legal aspects of the transaction, including drafting and extensive negotiation of the content license agreement, as well as providing strategic advice on legal risk related to the development and public release of an AI‑enabled application built using licensed clinical data.
