On May 4, 2026, the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy and Minister Responsible for Maritime Strategy, Bernard Drainville, the MNA for Beauharnois, Claude Reid, and Investissement Québec announced investments totalling $65 million to finance the acquisition of Meloche Group by Novacap, its new majority shareholder, and Meloche Group’s acquisition of the French company Rossi Aéro.
A key component of the transaction is Meloche Group’s acquisition of Rossi Aéro, a leading player in France’s civil and military aerospace sectors. This acquisition will allow Meloche to expand its market reach and grow in a key sector of the economy.
The support from the government and Investissement Québec was in addition to the investments from Novacap and sought to keep Meloche Group under Québec ownership, as the company was drawing interest from foreign investors. This support confirms the importance of this company in the region’s economic landscape and that of Québec as a whole.
Fasken advised Investissement Québec on these investments with a team that included Anne-Marie Naud, Philippe Beauchamp, Frédéric St-Jean, Amélie Defoy and Justine Letellier.
