Gold Basin Resources Corporation (Gold Basin), a mineral exploration company, received final approval of a plan of arrangement (the Arrangement).
The Arrangement was the result of a takeover bid by CANEX, in which Gold Basin would become a wholly owned subsidiary of CANEX and the former shareholders of Gold Basin would be issued shares in CANEX. The opposition came from one shareholder, who was also the former executive and director of the company. After a full-day contested hearing, Justice Fitzpatrick approved the Arrangement in Gold Basin Resources Corporation (Re), 2026 BCSC 1347.
