Jasmeen Kabuli is an astute advocate with wide-ranging experience in litigation and dispute resolution pertaining to real estate and municipal law. Her proficiency extends to representing both private and institutional clients in complex commercial and/or residential real estate and municipal law matters, significantly enriching her capabilities as a litigator.
Jasmeen’s litigation acumen spans the full spectrum of real property issues, including easement and title complexities, boundary disputes, adverse possession, mortgage enforcement, commercial lease conflicts, purchase options, certificate of pending litigation motions, contract breaches, co-ownership disagreements, and property tax assessments. In the realm of municipal law, Jasmeen addresses all facets of development, including large-scale infrastructure projects.
Notably, Jasmeen and her colleagues, Sarah Turney and Daniel Richer, successfully represented the appellants in a precedent-setting decision of the Supreme Court of Canada in Kosicki v. Toronto (City), which resolved the long standing legal uncertainty around adverse possession of municipal parkland and provided key guidance on how statutory schemes interact with evolving common law.
Jasmeen’s legal foundation was built at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she earned her JD, served as a judicial intern, and volunteered to support unrepresented litigants through Pro Bono Canada at the Ontario Court of Justice. Her commitment to volunteer service continues in her current role as executive secretary for a non-profit organization focused on educational advancement. In 2019, she was recognized for her community contributions with the Award of Excellence by the Region of Peel.
