Kateri-Anne Grenier has leading experience in the areas of commercial litigation, more specifically contracts, construction contracts and liability.
Kateri-Anne also has in-depth knowledge of issues related to access to information (federal and provincial law), privacy law and the protection of personal information. She has assisted clients in responding to multi-jurisdictional data breaches involving personal information and employee personal information, including: review of disclosure obligations, internal and external communications strategies, reporting to regulators and affected individuals, and the conduct of investigations and implementation of recommendations. She advises clients about how to mitigate risk of prosecution following breach, including class actions, and provides practical guidance in policy review and action plans in relation to breaches.
She has considerable experience in consumer law (credit agreements, distance contracts, service contracts, e-commerce, requirements on the use of French and Canada’s anti-spam legislation) and the regulations governing product safety and marketing. She is recognized for her experience in multi-jurisdictional consumer product recalls.
Kateri-Anne co-authored a book on the application of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
