Overview

Magali Cournoyer-Proulx is a seasoned employment lawyer, recognized for the quality of her strategic advice, her leadership on high-stakes matters, and her deep understanding of employment practices. She advises leading organizations in Québec and across Canada.

She advises and represents large organizations across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, technology, manufacturing and insurance, and regularly supports senior business executives in managing complex and sensitive employment relationships.

For over 20 years, Magali has assisted clients with a wide range of matters involving individual employment relationships, including employment contracts, restrictive covenants, compensation, internal policies, labour standards and termination of employment. She is frequently called upon to handle sensitive matters involving human rights, harassment, misconduct, internal investigations and hostile work environments. Part of her practice is focused on matters concerning professional and disciplinary law.

Magali frequently represents businesses before various courts and tribunals. She completed mediation training at Harvard Law School and frequently works with clients to prevent and strategically resolve disputes.

Named a Fellow of the prestigious College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, she is also a member of the American Employment Law Council, an invitation-only organization bringing together the most prominent labour and employment lawyers from across North America. She is consistently recognized by leading legal directories, including Chambers Canada, Lexpert, Legal 500, Best Lawyers and Who's Who Legal, and is ranked Band 2 by Chambers Canada, attesting to the excellence and breadth of her practice.
