Montréal Partner Marie-Christine Valois comments on the impact of Bill C-59, which aims to regulate the environmental dislcosures of Canadian companies, in an article published in La Presse (in French only).
She comments on the imprecision of the evidence required from companies to support their environmental disclosures.
“We’re sometimes in a grey area. The evidence must be reasonable and verifiable. There must also be a causal link between the claim and the evidence presented. As for the method, it must be recognized in at least two countries,” said Partner Marie-Christine Valois.
