Johannesburg (South Africa)—Onalerona Phiri rejoins Fasken as Partner in the Project Finance Group in the Johannesburg office.
Onalerona brings considerable experience advising lenders and sponsors on the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of renewable energy projects, ranging from standard loan agreement transactions to syndicated financing and project debt refinancing. His practice involves drafting and reviewing agreements, managing transaction deliverables and providing general project finance legal advice.
He has an extensive understanding of the South African legislative framework, having assisted clients with legal due diligence reviews, administrative appeals and advisory services regarding regulatory compliance.
Before rejoining Fasken, Onalerona occupied the position of Senior Associate at another major African law firm.
