Rebecka Arraial is an associate in the Firm's Labour, Employment and Human Rights Group. She advises unionized and non-unionized employers across a broad range of workplace issues, offering practical advice tailored to each organization's needs.
Rebecka advises employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including employment standards compliance, wrongful dismissal claims, grievance arbitrations, and matters before adjudicative bodies such as the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. She provides proactive and practical advice to help organizations manage risk and navigate evolving workplace laws and obligations.
Rebecka earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University where she received multiple academic awards, including the Goodmans LLP Award, the Makua Mutua Prize and the National Association of Japanese Canadians & Roger Sachio Obata C.M. Prize in International Human Rights Law. During law school, she gained experience as an immigration case worker at Parkdale Community Legal Services and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada assisting LGBTQ+ clients with refugee claims.
Before attending law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at York University.
Prior to Fasken, Rebecka was an Associate at a boutique labour and employment firm in Toronto.
