Sam Delechantos is a privacy, cybersecurity, and technology lawyer in Fasken's Vancouver and Calgary offices. She works with fintechs, technology and SaaS companies, digital healthcare, financial services organizations, and public bodies. Her clients often call at a turning point: a data breach, a regulator inquiry, signing the first big client, a new product launch, or a move into a new market.
Sam brings an in-house perspective to every matter. She previously served as Senior Legal Counsel, Data Protection Officer, and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO) at a high-growth global fintech company. Before that, she was Legal Counsel and Global Privacy Officer at a global SaaS compliance company.
Sam's practice focuses on the moments when data, product commercialization, regulation, and growth intersect. Her work includes:

- Protecting trademarks and copyright for technology businesses
- Advising on Intellectual Property Strategy, Ownership and Licensing
Sam holds an LLM in cybersecurity and privacy from York University and a law degree from Griffith University. She is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C, CIPP/E, and CIPP/A), and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). She also holds the CAMS designation.
Sam practises in British Columbia, Alberta, and California. She was first called to the bar in Queensland, Australia, where she grew up. Her California and Canadian admissions make her a practical choice for US companies expanding into Canada.
