Samita maintains a broad commercial real estate practice, advising private and public sector clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, development projects and other complex real estate transactions.
Samita advises clients throughout the life cycle of real estate projects, from acquisition and financing through development. Her practice includes purchase and sale agreements, real property financings, joint venture arrangements, condominium matters, affordable housing projects and other commercial arrangements relating to the acquisition and development of real property. She brings a practical and solutions-oriented approach to transactions, informed by her experience in both private practice and in-house.
Before joining Fasken, Samita was an Associate in the Real Estate group at a leading regional law firm in Toronto. She also spent a number of years in-house as real estate counsel with Toronto Community Housing Corporation, giving her first-hand insight into the commercial and operational considerations that inform clients’ real estate decisions.
Samita obtained her JD and LLM from Western University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Queen’s University.
