On February 27, 2008, a Canadian subsidiary of Glencoe Capital LLC completed the acquisition of ACE Bakery of Toronto from Birch Hill Private Equity Partners and management. ACE Bakery is a privately-owned company that specializes in baking handmade artisan breads. RBC Capital Partners and management also participated in the buying group. The acquisition was partially financed with debt provided by Bank of Montreal and Royal Bank of Canada. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Bank of Montreal was represented by Brian Wright and David Ferris (banking) and Linda Huynh (real estate) of Fasken Martineau.
