On February 25, 2016, Nasdaq completed its acquisition of Marketwired, which distributes news releases and economic data for investors and media companies, for an undisclosed amount.
 
Marketwired had been owned by OMERS Private Equity since 2006. Announced on February 12, 2016, the transaction will allow Nasdaq to significantly strengthen its position as a leading corporate services provider. Nasdaq’s corporate clients will now benefit from premium access to Marketwired’s social media targeting tools and analytics, in addition to Nasdaq’s expanded GlobeNewswire network.
