Fasken is acting for the FortisBC Utilities in the BCUC’s Inquiry into the Regulation of Safety. The first stage of the Inquiry sought to establish the BCUC’s jurisdiction with respect to safety regulation, including the nature and extent of the BCUC’s jurisdiction to regulate the safety of public utilities under the Utilities Commission Act.
The second stage of the Inquiry will explore the application of the BCUC’s Safety Regulation Framework to its regulation of public utilities and establish how the BCUC will implement its mandate with regards to safety.
