Overview

ZiChen Gao graduated from McGill University, Faculty of Law and obtained a double degree in common law and civil law with a major in Commercial Negotiation and Dispute Resolution. Prior to law school, she received her DEC (Diplôme d’études collégiales) in Social Science-Honours Commerce at Marianopolis College where she was on the Dean’s List.  She has worked as an Intern at the National Bank of Canada in the Legal Department and as a Law Clerk at the Cour du Québec.  She also has experience working as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and as a Caseworker at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill University, and has completed internships at Option Consommateurs and Foundation Amal in Montreal, and at a law firm in Beijing.  ZiChen is involved in many extracurricular activities. She has served as a mentor and tutor at Marianopolis College. At McGill, she is a Law Ambassador and the VP Finance of the Women of Colour Collective, and she is a past VP Finance of the Business Law Association and First Year Representative for the Asia Pacific Law Association.  She has also served as a Translator for Children’s Care International. In her spare time, ZiChen enjoys playing the piano, travelling, drawing and reading.  She is trilingual in English, French and Mandarin.
