Jean-Philippe Therriault is a member of the firm’s Environment, Energy and Commercial Litigation groups. Jean-Philippe’s practice focuses on environmental, energy and construction law and he advises clients on environmental regulatory compliance and contractual obligations in the area of construction. He has considerable experience in commercial and real estate transactions related to the rehabilitation of contaminated sites. He also advises clients on obtaining environmental authorizations and permits.
Jean-Philippe further advises clients on matters related to construction defects, project management and contractual obligations. He collaborates and advises institutional work providers, contractors and suppliers on every aspect of construction law, more specifically concerning request for tenders and the drafting and revision of contract documents.
Jean-Philippe is involved in major asset acquisitions in Quebec and in Africa and is familiar with issues related to the institutional and legal reform of electricity production, transmission and regulation frameworks in developing nations. He also contributes to drafting and negotiating power purchase and transmission agreements.
Before joining the Fasken team in 2015, Jean-Philippe practised with a boutique firm specialized in environmental, energy and municipal law.
