Johannesburg (South Africa)—Fasken is pleased to announce that Johan Coertze is now a partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group, based in Johannesburg. His new role is effective 1 January, 2026.
Johan’s practice is focused on tax law and includes advising clients on tax aspects of local and international commercial transactions, internal and external restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and preference share funding. He also regularly assists clients with South African Exchange Control Regulations, helping them obtain approvals for inward and outward investments, and navigating tax dispute resolution processes.
He began his career with Fasken in 2019 as a candidate attorney, progressing through roles as an associate, senior associate, and then partner.
