Timothy St. John Ellam, KC Joins Fasken as Senior Counsel in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group

London (UK) and Calgary (Canada)—Timothy St. John Ellam, KC joins Fasken as Senior Counsel in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution group working between the London and Calgary offices.

Tim is a distinguished international arbitration and litigation counsel with more than 35 years of experience. His practice focuses primarily on international arbitration in both the UK and Canada, with particular emphasis on energy and intellectual property matters.

Tim is a member of the Bar in Alberta and a Solicitor Advocate with the Law Society of England and Wales, where he holds Rights of Audience in the Higher Courts. Tim routinely undertakes work in London on significant international arbitration matters and on litigation before the High Court of Justice (Commercial Court). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a North American Council member of the London Court of International Arbitration.

Before joining Fasken, Tim was a partner in the litigation and arbitration practices in Calgary and London at another leading law firm, where he co‑chaired the international arbitration group. Over more than three decades, he acted for clients in complex, high-stakes litigation and arbitration proceedings in both Canada and the UK.

Tim is also an IBA Fellow in International Legal Practice, a distinction awarded by the International Bar Association and the College of Law of England and Wales in 2005. He was appointed King’s Counsel in 2014.
