Overview

Nicolas-Karl is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group at our Montréal office.  His practice, although varied, is mainly focused on cases involving product liability, disputes in the construction industry and consumer law.

Nicolas-Karl represents manufacturers and distributors in various industries (automotive, pharmaceutical, medical products, consumer products, etc.), in both individual and collective actions.  Clients rely on Nicolas-Karl to provide advice on their rights and obligations arising from conventional or legal warranties, particularly with regard to hidden defects, security defects or misleading representations.

Versatile, rigorous and efficient, Nicolas-Karl works closely with the best experts to defend the rights of his clients.  Since 2022, Nicolas-Karl has been part of the “Ones to Watch” list of Best Lawyers in Canada for his extensive experience  in product liability and construction law.

Nicolas-Karl also has extensive experience  in questions related to the Consumer Protection Act requirements and regulations, whether in the context of litigation or for the revision of contracts or commercial practices.

With experience in construction litigation, he represents and advises general contractors, developers, subcontractors and suppliers, specifically in relation to contractual liability, construction defects, project management, professional liability, legal hypothecs, calls for tenders and termination of contracts.

Finally, Nicolas-Karl advises clients in the context of disputes involving the interpretation of commercial contracts, franchisor-franchisee relationships, disputes between shareholders and insurance coverage.
